After the MkVIII I finished recently, I pondered which spit to build next and after looking through my stockpile of kits I found this 1/32 scale Mk I version.
It’s an old Hasegawa mould of the MkV re-boxed by Revell. Bacically, what you get is a MkV fuselage and cockpit with raised details and a new MkI wing with recessed details[:o)]
So what I’m going to do is make the best of it and build it as a MkI and make use of the MkV cockpit to simply “make it look nice” I built this kit over eight years ago, so it’ll be interesting to see if my model making has improved since then.
When this build is finished, I’ll post pics of both models for you to compare[:D]
Thanks for your comments guys! I have now put the fuselage together and have modified the tail planes so that I can pose them in a dropped position, cutting through the thick plactic got a little messy, but after smoothing out the edges, I think it’ll look OK.
unfortunately I can’t open pics …I would really like to see them so have you saome direct link to thoose pics ???
BTW I’ve done that plane two years ago (only bought it for practice in detailing cockpit …cool model) now I’m on me 109 g-4 also has/revell
I did consider re-scribing the fuselage, however it’s something that I have never done before and I have set an old kit to one side to practice on in the future, when I get myself a scribing tool. For this model, I’m going to highlight the panel lines in pencil.
I know…it may sound daft, but I’ve tried it before and if you get it right, it can look good.
Wish me luck!
