This is a Tamiya figure on a Verlinden base. Still have to attach belt buckle, weapon, maybe some recognition armbands, add dirt to the suit along with final touch-ups. Also waiting arrival of some artificial snow. Thanks for stopping by.

OMG!! the face is done sooo well i can swear it almost felt real!! and a great job pulling that hardest-to-paint white uniform. props to you!
That’s looking splended. Off to an excellent start. Can’t wait to see the finished piece.
You could use baking soda for snow, though it absorbs moisture like a sponge, and will aquire a mildew smell, eventually.Glass beads are another option. That’s what they used to use to make artificial snow with when I was a kid.
jgeratic1 - looks very good so far, can’t wait to see the finish model. What paints did you use.
That’s awesome! Please share how you have painted the face. The helmet is also very realistic, I would love to know how you painted it.
Very nice job, I cant wait to see the finished product!!

Regards,
Hey guys, thanks for the comments. I used acrylic paints and then some final details on the face were added with pencil crayon such as beard stuble and wrinkles at the sides of the eye. The helmet was first sprayed with field grey and then dry brushed white to give a rough look to it. After looking at some photo reference of white-washed helmets I went pack with a fine brush and field grey to pick out some worn spots and specks. Artificial snow is in the mail so maybe a couple weeks before it’s all finished.
