Problems with importing Friul tracks?

Just got my regular e-mail update from Hometown hobbies. They urge people who want Friul tracks to order them while in stock because they may not be available after Christmas, possibly ever again. Anybody know anything about this?

perhaps there getting a bulk import of them in

If you look at the message, it says it was updated back in April. I know that there are several other places that carry Friuls and MK track sets. In fact, last month, ModelPoint just started selling the Friuls. So, maybe no Biggie, dunno.

Judging by the previous problem I had with getting Friuls from Hometown, I think it’s a problem with the wholesale distributor they deal with for their stuff as opposed to a general shortage of Friuls from other retailers. As Ted points out, MP has them in stock and only recently started carrying them, so they had to have gotten a bulk shipment from somewhere.

Friuls are imported from Hungary so it’s possible that they could be facing trade restrictions or importation delays, who knows?

That’s good to know then. I am going to start the Tamiya Panther G next month, and I thought it might be the right kit to give them a go.

Better Friuls than MK’s when it comes to Panther tracks!

Thanks for the tip, Bill. I’m keen on giving them a try, but I want to use a kit that is worth the investment, where the Friuls will be markedly better than the kit tracks. I figure that the Panther will fit the bill nicely.
