I love the website airliners.net as a resource for my modeling. However, I am hesitant to visit it because I’ve twice received a virus from the site which resulted in expensive calls to computer experts. Has anyone else had this problem??? I even have antivirus software, but no luck…
I use it on a semi-regular basis & I can’t say that I have had any issue. I do use NIS, but haven’t seen any intrusion warnings or anything while browsing the site…
The new ownership over there is as unfriendly as you can ever imagine. You can email them about the viruses, which I am sure you got from them, but they won’t care. Also, the constant bombardment of ads gets pretty old. And don’t use the forums, it is 2% experts, 98% 14 year olds posing as experts.
use jetphotos.net that is where a lot of the pictures that photographers have pulled from Airliners.net have ended up. The people running jetphotos are also a lot more friendly. At least that is where a lot of fellow former A.net members have ended up after the great purge a few years ago.
