Hi all:
The last time, I have a problem trying to spray paint from the glass jar of my Paashe H AB.
I mainly use Tamiya Acrylics thinned with Tamiya Thinner (aprox 3:1). If I fill the jar with whater, I jhave no problems, but with the paint its refuse to spray.
What could be the problem? I checked that the hole in the jar’s cover is open.
Thanks in advance.
Jose
Make sure the air pinhole in the jar lid isn’t blocked.
The ratio you stated is 3 paint and 1 thinner, right? With Tamiya, that won’t be enough thinner for airbrushing. Try starting at half thinner : half paint. It might still be too thick though. Your working formula could end up being more like 4 parts thinner to 1 part paint.
Since water sprays OK, it must be either the pressure is too low or the paint is too thick, or both.
Thin the paint to about the consistency of milk - which can be a lot thinner than some paints as they come from the jar. Depending on the particular paint I’m using, sometime this means more thinner than paint.
3:1 is the ratio I use with Tamiya acrylics and it will spray properly down to about 10 psi although it does atomize better at about 15 psi.
