I have a Badger 200 single action airbrush that I have used for about the last 6 years. Until now, it has worked well.Yesterday, I was using it and it would spray in pulses, not a steady flow while button is depressed. If I remove paint bottle and spray just air, it works fine! ! have fully dissassembled and cleaned everthing. Whats wrong! Please help,
Most likely a busted needle bearing. You can’t replace these on your own, send it in to badger. My 200 had the same problem, I tried replacing the valve assembly above, now I have an extra air valve laying around. Send it in.
Mine had the same problems, sent it in, and now it works like new. And they cleaned it. For FREE!!
First, the old-style Badger 200 has a Teflon washer between the head and body, Badger part number 50-055. Over time that washer will flatten and cause pulsation in the spray. It’s a common problem with an easy fix, just replace that washer.
Second, completely disassemble the airbrush, remove the air valve, and soak everything EXCEPT the air valve in lacquer thinner overnight. Also clean the top of the bottle cap assembly with a pipe cleaner soaked with lacquer thinner. You may think it’s clean but it isn’t. It has some dried paint in it.
