Hey friends, I wish to print license plates for the model cars that I do. I’ve checked out several websites, one of which I use (http://www.acme.com/licensemaker) but am not fully content with because the images are bitmaps and the resolution is somewhat poor. The Platemaker used to provide quality, high-resolution plates but I believe he is no longer in business. Does anybody know if there is a program, or website where one can utilize vector images to make plates? Surely there must be something out there.
Thanks,
John
Get a Macintosh computer, and a copy of Macromedia Freehand (it’s a vector program). With that, you can do any graphic you can imagine.
You could try calling the warden at a little tiny prison, maybe they can make some there.[sigh]
Sorry I couldn’t resist[:p]
this site will help ya with specific plates from around North America

If you are into something a little different.
A Company called Wave makes different sets of Licence plates for japanese Cars.
You bassically get the Plate decals and use dry-transfer markings to fill them with numbers, region names, etc.

Maybe someone should drop a hint to makers overseas to do something similar for overseas plates.
I know not really helpful in your quest.
