I can’t seem to find a source (I’ver tried Googling) for printer’s inks - specifically metallics - These are not what I find on line - i.e. inks for digital printers, but rather actual inks that come in semi-solid form - they thin with mineral spirits and are better than bottled metallics commonly sold for that purpose…they used to be available from a military miniature painter I knew, Phil Kessling, through his company, The Palette, but a search on Google shows no links or leads. If anyone knows of these inks and/or a source, please let me know.

Many of the metallic printers inks are suspended with a lacquer. They also when used in the printing world are set with heat. In the world of plastic modeling one needs to use a low ration mixture with a high concentration of a hot lacquer to accelerate the drying. Due to this the plastic has to be sealed so the plastic isn’t attacked by the carrier. Inks also are more translucent than paints, again another reason for a base coat of a solid color.
