This is my second attempt ,maybe the computer swallowed my first try or this will be the secon time it shows up .Anyway I’m inquiring about what is the best primer to use on resin kits after they’ve had their detergent and water scrubbing / Thanks in advance for any help. Flyguy
Primers, like paints themselves tend to be a personal thing. Enamel, acrylics or laquers? Automotive or model? The few times I’ve used resin (I tend to do OOB), I went over the part after the wash stage and located any pinholes (a fact of life with some mfgs) and filled them with an automotive spot’n’fill putty. When that’s been cleaned up, I wash again and let the part dry. I then apply several misted coats of primer allowing until I have a good covering w/o loosing the small details. Hope this helps a little

I have always used Plastikote T235 auto primer on resin. It’s really thin, light gray and drys fast. It really won’t fill all the little imperfections like some of the thicker “filler primers” but hey isn’t that the fun!
