Primer recommendations....

Can somebody recommend a white primer?

I’ve been using Tamiya white fine surface primer, but I guess they’re having troubles importing it because of inadequate labeling and I can’t find it anywhere in the world.

Can somebody recommend a good substitute? It’s got to be white.

Mr Gunze is a good one, I’ve always done well with plain old Testor’s Flat White.

Yup, Gunze the best! Always finishes silky smooth and dry fast.

Krylon Primer. It Cost $2. Works great

I like the testors acryl primer. comes in the squair and model master jars. perfect for airbrushing.

Rust-Oleum makes a white primer specifically for plastics that works well. Found it at Wal-Mart for about $4.

plasti-kote thats what I use

Where are you Steve? Most of the large Auto Shops do their own plastic primers in white, grey and red. You don’t have to use a primer specifically for modelling.

I use my testors Flat white thinned a bit just so i know i will get that nice silky smooth finish when its dry

I use Model Master White Primer, but thinned down a lot, and I usually try to spray it over a coat of gray primer. For some reason I can never get a solid foundation with white primer as well as I do with a gray primer.
