Anyone use Plasti-Kote’s clear, sandable laquer for their primer coat?

I haven’t used it, but I prefer a colored primer. One of the reasons I prime sections is so that I can see surface defects like seams I thought I had filled properly. Using a clear primer would not allow me to do that.
