Hi, I just completed this exotic fighter jet from far east of scale 1/72 JF-17 by Trumpeter.
Great details, good design but fitting is subjective. Cockpit and canopy fitting are not so good but fuselage, wing and main airframe fit just nice with minimal gaps.
Thanks for looking Bro. Its a kit produced by Trumpeter. Quite a new release of few months ago. But there’s a slightly older kit in 1/48 scale by Trumpter too few years ago.
This 1/72 will be better than 1/48 in the sense, the RD-93 engine is more detail with PE parts supply by the kit. While 1/48 kit uses plastic part for engine with no PE.
Thanks for yr interest bro. As for yr enquiry. The center belly carries a MM40 Exocet. Pakistan is known to have armed their Mirage IV with French Exocet. So its not hard to imagine they will wired this missile to this platform and optimum for anti-shipping mode.
As for the side winder, in fact, its a Chinese PL-9. The fin is different and the missile is in fact much bigger and longer. Even the AIM-120 lookalike in fact is a Chinese PL-12 BVRAAM which is again longer and bigger. It can be easily distinguised by the back fin which is in different shape.
Thanks Vance, that is what I was looking for. The reason I asked is because, like you said, it appears to be a mixture of different Western fighters…seems to have some F-16, Mirage and a little bit of F-5 in it…weird but really cool looking.
