Do collectors and model builders really pay prices like this?? This book hasn’t been OOP for very long, but already it is fetching prices like these!
A few of the books on my shelf are on Amazon with prices up to $400!

I don’t pay that much for a kit.
No way will I pay that for a book just because it has info on an aircraft.
$229 is my absolute limit. [;)]
One of advantages of advancing age is the acquisition of a reference library. Some of my books are 50 years old. Guess I should check the evilBay lists and make some cash.
I have one book >100yr plus some autographed books.
Don’t forget to ascertain price of autographed books.
Books and guns are kind of like your children, it would break your heart to be seperated from them. [;)]
One thing I have learned, is that books on some subjects are NEVER worth a lot of money. All of my hardware reference has usually been bought off the shelf for peanuts.
And that’s all most books on aircraft are worth. I mean, come on, you can find oodles of books on planes virtually anywhere.
If I were to spend something like that on a book like that, and I wasn’t given a beating when I got home, I’d be upset that he no longer cared about me enough to care.
Here’s another book I have on my shelf. Only purchased it a year or so ago from Barnes and Noble at 10% off the cover price…

These books appear on ebay quite frequently and don’t seem to fetch these types of prices, so I have to wonder how the sellers on Amazon think they can actually get this high of a price.
The only book that I MAY have paid this type of price for is the Warbird Tech volume on the C-17. For the longest time I wasn’t sure the book even existed. There weren’t any used copies for sale on Amazon and I had never seen one elsewhere. Well, one copy showed up on ebay at a starting price of $19.99. I put in a bid and crossed my fingers, knowing full well I wouldn’t have a chance at it. Well, no one else bid and I got it for $19.99…Why it’s referred to as “evilbay” I will never know! [8-)]
Some of these sellers must be on something really strong. I am after a few books from the Classic Publications Luftwaffe Colours series. This includes both book from the Night Fighter volume.
The price isn’t to bad now, but a few months ago someone was asking over £1,000 for each. But bad when they were less than 20 each when brought out. But even the current price, Vol 1 is £115, is a bit to much for me for what they are.
