Predators (32mm Prodos Games)

PhoenixG’s SW critters reminded me of these I’d done about a year ago. I thought about posting them then and then forgot about them.

They’re 32mm wargaming figures, aka a six foot tall / 180cm guy would be 32mm. A Predator is a bit bigger than a human - about seven feet / two metres plus. So the figures are about a inch and half / four cms tall.

Holy cow…

They are amazing…

I just keep scrolling through them to stare at them in wonder. Something for me to aspire to. The ground cover really brings them to life.

I’ve bumped up the priority of those materials on my wish list. I admit that I already blew this month’s budget for modeling or I would be placing orders now. Any suppliers/brands you would recommend for things like scale gravel and grass?

Care to share any of the secrets you used while painting them?

I really like the look of the mottling of the skin and how you did the armor. [8-|]

Thanks! The groundwork is just model railroad ballast and the grass Woodland Scenics static grass. Nothing special- it was on hand so I used it. Probably cost me about ten-fifteen bucks for a lifetime supply.

The painting was just an Optivisor and a tiny little brush. No real skill just patience and doing a little bit at a time.

The armour I painted a darker metallic- steel I think and then dry-brushed it with a lighter metallic- silver or aluminum as best I remember.

Hey Cliff, very nice paint work, and nicely presented. A very cool figure for display!

It’s one on my favorite movie creatures. Thanks for sharing it.

Great work Cliff. Beautifully painted and presented.

You did a terrific job on those figures. You put so much detail in a small space. I’ve seen them at my gaming store, and they aren’t large. Thanks for posting.

Yikes,

Those look so good that they’ll probably give me nightmares tonight. [:S]

Thanks guys!!!

It was fun to do something a little different.

Optivisor - Check!

Tiny little brush - Check!

No skill - Double Check!!

Patience - Ocassionally misplaced but generally available

Awesome, looks like I have all the tools I need! [:D]

Lol! It’s just going slow and putting away the brush when you eyes start seeing spots (other than the ones you’re painting)!
