Pre-shading?

I am currently working on a 1/48 aircraft and decided to have a go at pre-shading.

I applied a line of plack, via an airbrush along panel lines, and control surfaces joints etc.

Which all seemed far too simple.

Is there something else I should be doing?

Thanks

Karl

Nope, that pretty much covers it.

Thanks for that tweety1.

It still seems far too simple!

Possibly because it hasn’t gone wrong yet!!

Karl

Save your judgement until after you put on your final colors. You might find that you can’t see your preshading after you put on your top coat.

Hungfarlow, that was one of my concerns.

Still we’ll see how it goes.

If it doesn’t work, it’ll be a wash job then.

you can do postshading as well. if you cover your preshading, just mix darker and lighter shades of the color your working with and have fun with it. spray the darker shades towards the edges of the panel, and the lighter color towards the center of the panels. i wouldnt do every panel or may look a little overdone. but i enjoy both methods. later.
