Hi… stupid question but here it goes. What is the little hole at the rear of a lot of kits below the tail wing. Is that something real planes had or is this a hole I should be filling with putty before painting?
Thanks

Those are ‘Lift’ points where either a dolly or men insert poles to lift the tail of the aircraft to make it easier to move on the ground. They should be left and a decal normally stating “Lift Here” is placed over the hole.
Whew!!! Thanks a bunch I was a little worried.
On most plastic models the hole is usually for a tail stand to keep tri-cycle gear aircraft from tail sitting. Most modelers fill this hole and weight the nose to get the aircraft to sit properly.
