Hi Everyone, Yes, it’s another simple priming question because I’m still a novice. Thank you for your patience. I’m wondering if I should touch-up the areas I’ve sanded after priming with another very light coat of primer, especially the areas where the styrene shows through? Thanks -Spencer
Would be a good idea. The primer is giving the following layers something to ‘bite’ onto and will influence the final shade of paint. If it is not consistant then the final coat will not be consistant in texture or tone.
Thanks Swanny, I was kinda thinking along those lines. This is my first time priming a model so I wasn’t sure. Man, your website is awesome! I’ll be using future for the first time also on this kit so I’m sure I’ll have plenty of questions on that subject as well. I do have “The Complete Future” on disc but you know how it goes. At least for me, I always seem to find something I can’t figure out. I’m kinda throwing the salt technique around in the back of my head for this kit as well. I think it’s a lot more realistic than dry-brushing for paint-chipping. Well depending on the color primer used. I’m not sure what color the modern army uses on their vehicles. Do you think basic Krylon all purpose primer grey would be sufficient? Or do they use some other specific color?
Thanks Again, -Spencer[:)]
