Porco Rosso!

From the very fun (and very strange) Studio Ghibli anime “Porco Rosso,” here’s the Crimson Pig in his rebuilt Savoia S.21 F racing floatplane.

1/72 kit by Fine Molds. I modified the base by adding the water texture and replacing the girder-looking arm with a clear acrylic rod.

Fun little kit.

I like the finished kit and the movie. Great job.

Nice work John. Looks like a stress reliever kinda kit.

Regards, Rick

very kool indeed. Looks like a nice little kit and you do an excellant job on th stand.

Looks good. Good to see another “civilian” build in here.

I had to jump on this post to see what it was all about…my last name is Rosso!

It would be wierd if your first name was Porco

Very nice job, John! I seen the kits in Japan but never saw the movie. Talk about " if pigs could fly!" LOL - Calvin

Ha! First thing I thought too.
The movie is a LOT of fun for aircraft lovers.

Fine Molds has several other kits from the film too, including a 1/32 Curtiss racer, and a 1/48 version of the Savioa.

yay, more miyazki / studio ghibli fans !
i love 'Porco Rosso… a strange & beautiful movie indeed !
i can’t believe that was a real a/c, it looked so
perfectly cartoon-like & almost too cool…
ur model & base look fantastic, makes me want 2 get that kit !
if only i could see the pig pilot more clearly, i bet the figure gets some
good comments when u show that build 2 ur friends !
