Poniatowski's Iraqi War Bradley

Got my February issue of FSM in the mail this afternoon & I must say that that Abrams is great. The details & the weathering it’s just awesome. One great build there Ron.[;)][bow]

I agree Alex. Ron built a great M1.

Our Ron is a pretty good builder indeed.

Congrats on the Bradley article (and a front cover shot to boot!!) Ron!

Awesome job!

Thanks all,

I was surprised to get the cover. I’m not a Bradley expert (crewed M109’s M60’s and M1’s) so I was very nervous about the build. I’ll admit my figure building has a long way to go, but I’m working on it. All in all I had fun with the Bradley. Again, thanks for the kind words. I’m sure you can tell my work isn’t perfect, but I have fun at it.

Ron

i’ll add my congrats here also…
great model, and well worthy of a cover spread !
makes me want 2 start on the one i got 4 my birthday way back in oct.,
but i’m still kinda scared of 1/35 scale…[:I]
(i did order a stowage set 2 get me motivated, tho !) [;)]
kudos 2 u !

Havent picked up my copy yet but the teaser on this site shows it. Congratulations, Ron!

Awesome work!! I am now ready to start my bradley! Thanks for the ideas!

great work ron!!! can’t wait to get my mag and read the article!!!

Congrats Ron! Have not seen the magazine yet either but the pic on the site looks great.

My congrats to Ron. I was pleasently suprised to see that you were from Baraboo. I live in Madison and was thrillled to see a fellow Wisconsinite on the cover. Great work.

I got my copy last week and I saw the name and though that I recognized it as someone on the forum.
For someone who says there not very good with figures you did a great job. I really like the sleeping driver.

Looks like a great job on that one, Ron. And at the front cover, too!

Kongratz.

I just finished the article.

Great Job Ron!!!

BTW: Are you enjoying your FineScale Modeler coffee cup yet?

Way to go Ron … Coverboy February 2004 … kinda has a ring to it.

Nicely done !!!

Ron’s da man! Can’t wait to see that issue. Coverboy, too!
What about the centerfold??

Thanks again all!

I know that all of you can at least match, if not exceed, what I did with the build.

RAF120, thanks, I’m working on Patton right now for Patton’s Patton and am trying to get him just right… Willie too of course! I still don’t feel as comfortable modeling figures as I do interiors, but they’ll come along. By the way, I used to sleep in our M109 like the Bradley driver is posed, that’s what gave me the idea… Actually, it’s very nice to sleep that way if you can arrange the padding just right. Sleeping in an armored vehicle is very comforting for me. Weird. (is this some Freudian thing??)

Latch66, yes, I am enjoying my mug! I got one a few years back when I did an M3A3 Stuart (my favorite tank) article. It’s still hangin’ in there and looks like new after many washings.

J-Hulk, I just looked and can tell you that the centerfold is a sweet Kubelwagen, a sexy Neuport 17, as well as a fast CF-5D and the swimsuit teaser, a 1/350th HMS Kimberly. Obviously, the Reader Gallery!

Ron

Ron,

Was that article the one on the Yugoslavia M3A3 with the quad 20mm?

No, just the standard M3A3. I can’t even remember how long ago that was! At the time, I was helping a Legion post clean their M3A3 (the tank is in the Patton Museum now) when I did the article, so it was almost ten years ago, I’d guess! Whew!
I used to play in an M3A3 owned by a local construction company in Racine, WI when I was a kid… the tank was sold when I was in 4th grade (ending my innocence of childhood and sending me into a deep, dark depression from which I’ve never recovered[;)]) … and I don’t know where it went after a fellow in Wind Lake (near Milwaukee) had it.

Man… if I’d have had $2,000 in third grade! (Do you think my Dad would’ve let me buy it??[:p][:p][:p])

Ron

Ron,

Yeah, I got similar memories of playing on a M5 at Rosevelt State Park when I was a kid.
