Pollyscale Acrylics

Hi guys,

What do you guys thin your pollscale paints with?

Cheers-Leo

I have used rubbing alcohol or distilled water with good results. I have been mixing some Future with flat acrylics instead of spraying the Future over the flat paint.

I find Polyscale acrylics a little tricky to spay but have had some luck using Tamiya thinner 25-30%. Also a couple of drops of dish washing soap and a couple drops of Poly flat fiinish helps flow.

Good luck

Jamie

I thin Polly Scale 10 to15 percent with distilled water. They are incompatible to marginally compatible with alcohols. Note that the thinning ratio is different for Polly Scale paints made after 2007, so check the label for that. It is very easy to over-reduce Polly Scale. It needs very little thinning.

Wow, Thanks guys, great info. I’[ve been using distilled water and have been having problems spraying. I’ll give the above mentioned options a try and see which one works best.

forgot to add to my previous post that my distilled water has some liquid soap mixed in.
