What one armored kit would you consider to be your ALL-TIME favorite? Could be a classic Tamiya kit from the 70’s or 80’s or be the latest DML SMART kit…Come on, we all have a favorite kit, that we usually relate to considering subject matter, accuracy, quality, etc…

Only stipulation to your vote is that you will have had to have owned AND built it at some point in your life…

hi all. my favourite kit is the british crusader mk 1/11/111 in 1/48 scale. i have built two to date and have another four on the bench in various stages of completion.

You got to be a real Crusader fan…

Well, I’ve built too little… Don’t really have any favorites…

Mine would have to be Tamiya’s M-3 Stuart, just because I was addicted to “DC Comics” The Haunted Tank, you know Jeb Stuart and the crew taking on Tiger 88’s with a 37mm gun and coming out on top! Also built the M-5 & M-8, who has’nt?

Mine is the Italeri panther as this is a lot more acurate than the earlier Tamiya one and because i have but still havnt made the dragons versions yet.

Oh gosh, just one? Have to be Tamiya’s M4A3. I know that it’s not that great of a kit, but it filled a hole in my life [:-^], and got me back in to armor. Second (can I say that on TV?) is a toss between Tamiya’s Stuart, same reason as above, and Tamiya’s or Academy’s (same thing) M60A1/3. I’m sure I’ve forgotten something…

My Tamiya 1/25 scale Centurion - Its big, its funky, it has a interior (well, most of a interior).

OK…I know being the armor lepor (liking US WWII forward) this will be different than most…

Any of the Italeri century series self propelled howitzers - M107, M108, M109 & M110.

I have built three of the variants and have the rest on the shelf.

Manny…isn’t one of your favorite kits female!!![:O] LOL…Good to see “Dr. Manny” posing the philisophical questions again!!

Rounds Complete!!

tamiya shermie or stuart.

You asked and maybe this probably won’t be a surprise: Tamiya’s Tiger I Late. Maybe not the most accurate of the Tigers, but the fit was superb. Could use some extra detailing, like the Dragon kits, but at the time I was quite pleased. Same can be said for most of their newer releases: Panzer III L, Wespe, Marder III M. Loved them all and most likely won’t buy the Dragon kits, even though my skills are a bit better since I last built them.

Tamiya’s M3 and M5A1 stuarts. I’ve built two of each, and each one looks better than the last. Good fit, easy construction, and lots of room for improvement or add ons.

O.K.— I 'll bite on this one–my favorite for myself is my 1/16 T-34/85 by Trumpeter–It is not the best model ever engineered, but with alot of work you get a complete tank-- Interior and Exterior- the whole package–a great learning experience, and a classic of WWII that is hard to beat.–tread[8D]

My favorite kit to date has been the DML Tiger I Initial. Built like a dream.

Manny, I’ve been thinking on this one all day, and the only one that I can think of is…the one that was made of plastic! [:-^]…[:D]

Honestly—ONLY ONE!!! (panic setting in!..[:O])

Hmmmmm…it might be the…awww damn! I can’t pick just one!!!

How about going by country? And vehicle mark? And number of road wheels? Calibre of gun? Color? Markings? LOL!

I can’t do it!

It’s like picking a favorite ex-girlfriend; there have been many I would NOT pick, but just as many I WOULD! [:I]

LOL…it is hard to pick isn’t it?..in fact, although I am still sentimental to the Tamiya kits of the late 70’s that brought me into this hobby (such as the sdkfz 222 and 223), I will narrow down my current all-time fav to DML’s new line of Mk IV SMART kits…of course, this is subject to change…heee, heee…

The analogy to gf’s is certainly accurate…Sorta reminds me of like the old saying: “I’ve never had BAD sex…it was just a matter of how GOOD it was…”…LOL !

For me I would agree with Tigerman. I really enjoy the Tamiya 1/35 Tiger 1. I have built two of them, and most of the few armor kits I have are the other Tammy Tiger 1 kits.

I like the Academy 1/35 Stuarts best (so far). I’m also a big Stuart fan.

My favourites have to be the old Matchbox kits I used to build when I was a teen. In fact I’m building the Revell Puma for the Vintage kit GB.

I couldnt possibly answer that because for me it is the result not the kit that got me there and i enjoy the tough ones as much or more than the easy ones, now granted some i enjoyed building more than others but ultimatly what goes on the shelf is what matters and you cant make me pick one [:D]

*edit ill tell you what then if i had to then maybe the Tamiya char B1 would be up there it was very memorable.

After much thought I would say that it was my first armor kit that I ever built.

Heller’s 1/35th scale Gepard flakpanzer in belguim markings.

yeah I know, what a way to start. LOL

I was bit so hard by that build I went armor and never looked back…that was 20 years ago.[swg]
