polishing powders ?

just saw a u-tube demo on polishing powders , made the edge of tank wheel’s look like shiny steel , e-bay their was nothing , could someone point me in the right direction , are they any good , where to buy them , how much they are ? thank’s guy’s

Up until a few years ago, there was also SNJ metal powders, but they have been discontinued.

There are a number of non-modelbuilding materials that can be used for polishing, depending on the grit you want. I have used toothpaste a lot on models. Pumice stone used to be a popular very fine abrasive. Another is jeweler’s rouge, though I would think that might stain a bit. Baking soda is a very gentle abrasive.

Perhaps a bit of ground pencil “lead”?
