Would this 2cm German flak 38 barrel look the same??? The kit barrel is unsatisfactory, and (having a metal LionRoar 2cm german flak 38 barrel from another kit), i can say they are almost the same diameter, but the metal barrel would need trimming to length… So should i get this barrel for it??? I know the end of the barrel looks noticably different, if one has a picture to compare, but would it be worth it, seeing as it is the only option?
In the end you have to ask yourself how much it will bother you from an accuracy standpoint and then weigh that against the problems of the kit barrel. Ultimately it’s your build so if you can live with the inaccuracy of the different barrel vs. what the kit has then the decision will be made for you. [;)]
FWIW, the gun used in the 20mm version was a Polish design. More info can be found here…it might help you in general but I highly doubt there’s an AM barrel available for it considering the relatively low number of this type produced and the limited audience/appeal for Polish vehicles.
It is interesting to see though that the Swiss Solothurn 20mm used to up-gun some was designed first as a anti-tank rifle and then fitted to the vehicle and was a subsidiary of Rheinmetal Borsig…how ironic is that!
i remember my dad always talking about this tank. its so weak that you can put a rock in its exhaust and it would die out. from looking at this tank there is no way Poland was prepared for world war 2.
You know, looking at the pics a little closer, it is a much more similar match for the Flak 30 type of barrel and muzzle flash suppressor than that found on the Flak 38. I know Jordi Rubio makes a Flak 30 aluminum barrel and Lion Marc has the Pz II tank version also available…you might check those out as additional alternatives.
The FK wz.39 was one of the most powerful machine guns as its time. i would actually destroy some German tanks(early tanks) therefore it would be known as a tank destroyer by the Polish Army till the Germans came with their nice tigers and panzers. [:D] i have a book somewhere with all the specs of this tank. i will look for it and post it like the engine, Armour, mass ect…
