Accurate, please be reading this. Will someone please do a good detailed, things fit together well B17 in 1:48? I want to put one next to me fighters in the correct scale. Pleeeeaaaaaaase do a 1:48 with detail in the cockpit and gunners bays that can be seen and fun to paint, weather and build. Please. I know I know, there are offerings out there and you can aftermarket them to death. Just give e something in one box.
I’ve mentioned this before, and I almost hate to bring it up again since I don’t like spreading rumors, but Tamiya will more than likely be releasing a 1/48 B-17 in the near future. This info comes to me via friends here in the Japanese hobby industry.
Take it for what it is right now: a rumour. An old one, too!

As with all rumours, this one must be taken with a grain of salt.
I only brought it up again because I just had a conversation about the Tamiya B-17 this past weekend with some industry folks, and then this thread popped up.

I still like Monogram’s Fortress, but a new one is overdue. I would trust Trum. though to be first before Tamiya
I hope the rumours come true JH also it would be good if Tamiya do one as we might actually get real crew figures with it instead of the standard Monogram window polishers and wavers[:)]
I think that is about as likely as Panda’s 1/32 Fort myself… I wouldn’t hold my breath guys if I was you.
