Plane Build

How about when soem of these group builds die down, (mid june?) we chalenge the fly boys to a build where we do an air plane model and they have to do an armor model. The only hting is that they ahve to use their forum for advice on armor and we have to use ours on advice for air craft. I am sure we could ocme up with a creative name for it all. What do you say?

Just thought it would be cool.

That would be very interesting.
very good idea.
Think i may have a plane model in my “stash” (bought that when i wasn’t too smart, then i realized armour was the best [:D][8][:D])

Well I have been wanting to do a diorama with a CRASHED PLANE in it so why not?

He-he-he.

Sounds good to me… ssssssshhhhhhhhhhhh Dont tell no one but I used to build planes, and well now well you know

that would be interesting. but would i build a a/c or armor kit. i guess would have to be armor as i consider myself an a/c guy.

Funny senrio there Joe for I “was” an aircratf guy for years, you just can dirty up or beat up a a/c like you can a tank.

Thundergod, if you dont believe you can dirty/beat up an airplane you should check out swanny’s build http://www.finescale.com/fsm/community/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=21194

Sounds like a fun idea for a build [:)]

hmmm…sounds interesting.

That is a GREAT build buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuttt…wheres the mud!!! hehehe. So if we are to do this I have no clue of what to build I have over 100 planes yes I know it is not right seeing my armor is only around 25 right now but rest asured I am converted to the DARKSIDE (in evil laugh) muuuuuuwwwhahahahahahaha!!!

Hmmm, interesting. But I’ll bet there are more “armor” modelers who do or have done planes than aircraft modelers who do tanks. (Also, my personal opinion, but I think most (certainly not all) armor models are easier than planes. That center fuselage seam always gets me!

Oh no…those is fighitng words where i come from. Someone is going to object to that. LOL

I tend to agree. I built a 1/48 P47 about a month ago. The kit only had about 2 dozen pieces and I must have pulled more hair out trying to build that thing and get the paint and decals on right (no covering mistakes up with mud here)

Seeing how I have a grand total of one AC kit on the shelf, this could be a cool thing to do so I can have an excuse to build it. The one I have sounds like the P47 above. About 10 pieces to the whole thing, but I’m sure there is a catch to it.

(with subtle laughing) its ok build the a/c. it wont hurt, much. hehehehehe

joe

I’m deffinetly in!!! Ive got something up my sleeve. [}:)][}:)][8D][:-,][;)]

By the way, I have to object, Armor is just as hard, Seam lines in barrels, all those road wheels on tigers but for one thing, they sure are alot cooler!

Can we make a diorama of an airplane being run over by a tank? I’m sure thats never happened!

Which P-47 you have Chris? I have the Hasegawa kit. I think it has about 70 pieces. The thing that scares me off of planes is the masking and the greenhouse. You know how many panes are on some of those Japanese planes?

My first thought was that Joe belongs to us now, so he would have to build a plane, but then I thought the last thing we need is him having a wingy thing relapse, so perhaps you better build a tank Joe!

Me, I’d love to build a North African Storch in 1/32.

I was actually refering to the amount of pieces. I have a 109 Messershmittle somethinanother thing. It has 3 sprues which include the body and wings.
