This is the PIOModels Bergepanther conversion kit. It includes the Revell of Germany Panther A/D lower hull, a resin turret plug and a small photoetch fret to build a tow hook for the rear hull. It also includes a small wire for an antenna.
Yea he should have a complte 1/72 battalion before he knows it , talk about mass production ! good thing he is building braillescale he may need a museum to display soon [8D] Oh great job BTW ![:D]
Yes, I found the kit as a deal on eBay. The conversion is a fully contained kit, inside the box is the Revell Panther kit minus the turret and several hull fittings (cut right off the remaining sprues). The instruction sheet is the Revell kit one with red “not used” stamps over the various assembly steps that won’t be used. There is a small sheet that shows how to build the PE tow hook and where to place the resin and etched parts.
I paid less for this kit than the cost of a Revell Panther and had a lot of fun building it, so it was definitely worth the money.
Nice job on that. It’s kind of odd. I’m more familiar with the Bergepanther that had the walled work area and the big crane build right on. How was this one used?
Major Rob, This bergepanther is a D or an A with the turret removed and a wooden cover over the turret ring. Any other modifications? Did it have the winch inside like the Italeri? Or was that a wench? I have the Mk IV, A bergepanther, bergehetzer, bergetiger I and am working on the Elephant based bergetiger(P). The FAMO and Kettenkrad are waiting for the crane kits to be ordered. I seem to have a common theme going here so I would like to build yours in 1/35.
