Just google ‘pin vice’ and you’ll get plenty of hits.
If I may throw in one thing though. I cannot recommend the squadron double-ended pin vice. It’s a piece of crap. The quality is definitely sub par.

Any one have experience with this one? I’m also looking for a pin vise and thought this might fit the bill since it came with the drill bits.

I saw it being sold at my LHS a little bit ago. Seems like it would be a nice investment.

Check out Micro-Mark Tools. Lots of quality tools at reasonable prices.

PMM736,

The set from Micro mark is a Basic Acetylene Torch tip cleaner. If you have a welding shop around (Any place that sells gases, rod, etc) they should have the exact same set up for $8 or so.

I have several of these and also a couple from the hobby store and a couple with wooden handles. I find that the best ones have a swivel on the head that allows you to place pressure on the drill with you index finger and turn the drill with the thumb and middle finger. Also, look at the collet and the chuck before you buy. For the drill bit sizes we use in this hobby, try to find a collet that when closed all the way will leave little or no gap (a zero clearance chuck, if you will allow).

I tried to be thorough in my explanation and refer to what I have tried and haven’t, If this has upset anyone, please let me know and I will do better next time[:D]

HTH,

Ted

I have one and it’s a good tool but I prefer the type with a swivel base. By the way I bought mine at Hobby Lobby for almost half of Micro-Marks price and of course there was no S/H to tack onto that price.

Well…

I’ve got the Squadron double-headed pin vice, and it seems to work okay for me.

Regards,

Ted and Woody, Thanks for the info. I think I’m going to keep looking. Pete
