Pictures of the airmen, where can I find it?

Dear far away friends.
Was thinking the other night [:O][banghead][%-)][D)][:O]. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a picture displayed of the pilot, beside the a/c that you’ve built?
My question is, where can I find these pictures, aces and those who weren’t?
Thinking also that I could put their score and missions and stuff too, like squadron patches, together with the picture.

Jan,
The are quite a few photos of Aircrew, Pilots, and Groundcrew on almost all the WWII
aviation sites: My Dad’s WWII Bomb Group Site (Pacific Theater) has lots of them in
the gallery section. http://www.redraiders22bg.com

Hi Jan, here is an example of one of the pictures I put together that features “Tex” Hill. The frame size is 14"x 18" to accomodate a 8"x10" photo and a “Kill” sticker and is double matted.

A close up of the kill sticker I had produced and is actually a vinyl peel off sticker and signed by Tex.

This was put together for a fraction of the cost of taking it to a framer!!! I am currently building the Tamiya P-51B with “Tex” Hill’s markings in the photo. If you want some tips on how to do something like this, I will help.

Tim Landers

Tim, Ray. Thank you so very much gentlemen, very, very much appreciated![:D][:D][:D]
Ray, I’ll have a look around on 22nd BG.
Tim, if you don’t mind to give me some pointers etc, I’d be ever so thankful (right word?)
Thanks again mates![tup][tup][tup][tup]

Have a look at www.littlefriends.co.uk or www.web-birds.com . These have lots of pics of the pilots and aces in their aircraft.

What I’ve done is go out to the web to google.com.

Type in “mustang ace”, spitfire ace", “zero ace” etc… you may have to wade through quite a few dead end pages but I have always found at LEAST one… once you have a name go back to google and type in the name and you will almost always come up with the story behind the name and pics as well…

hope this helps!

To help refine your google search, before you type in your ace’s name, click above the search window and highlight “Images” first-- then all you will see are pics so you don’t have to weed through websites without pics!
