Boy, you sure know how to put us snail-builders to shame by building a indy tracked kit in a few days. [V] Love the snow and weathering. Can’t wait to see your next project.
Nice Shermie!
Very Nice job
Thanks all for your comments… The base I had kickin around for another dio, but I figured I’d use it for this one… Thanks again for your kind words!
I love Shermans. Thanks for sharing your pics. May I make one suggestion? The commander’s cupola should have one of its view ports facing squarely forward. If you could rotate yours clockwise by about ten degrees, you’ll have it on the spot. HTH
ericadeane… thanks for the suggestion, however my references haven’t shown anything like that… could you show me a pic of the ports facing the way you described?
Oops! You are indeed correct about the optional positioning of the commander’s cupola. It had the ability to be mounted at various degrees. Pls forgive me as I’ve been slaving away researching a Pershing and the one I’ve been perusing has one vision port squarely facing 12 o’clock. Foolish of me to extrapolate this onto other vehicles. Indeed photos show the cupola at many degrees.
nah it’s alright man! I was just curious about what you were saying… I’ve never seen it before, and if there were pics of that, I would love to see it!
super job
Swwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet! I got chills just lookin’ at that snow. And isn’t that LTC Creighton Abrams tank when he commanded 37th Armor (Dragons) and was the first unit to break through the Germans encircling Bastogne? That’s why the first M1 Abrams tank had “Thunderbolt” on the front slope of its turret.
You da MAN, CDNTNT … you bad!
[:D] great job James,love the dio.[:D]
Well done on the Sherman there CDN!!
I am starting mine very shortley hope it is half as good, i especially like the snow how did ya do that?
Kepp up the good builds
Robert
fantastic build! what colur did you use for the sherman?
James,
Wasn’t the “Thunderbolt” the personal tank of Gen. Creighton Abrams?
it sure was… even though his name was spelled differently than mine, I felt I needed to build it cause he is, umm kin… lol
James,
Great job…especially the snow. Like the up angle shot with the barrel shadow across the front. Gives a sense of…bigness…[:)]
it was painted with Model Master Olive Drab… I am not sure of the number, I’ll get that to you as soon as I go through my paints and find it. I used Green Drab as the wash and for the shadows… thanks for the comments guys!
very very nice, awesome job! I just got mine off EBAY so send me your adress and I will send you the multi-piece indies for assembly. I will include a bottle of whatever you want to drink AFTER you are done with them.
great work.
LOL Geoff… shouldn’t be too expensive for ya then LOL Coca-Cola Zero haha, stopped drinking a few years ago after it almost killed me! but that’s a book in itself. As for the indies, it seems everyone on this forum dreads them… to be honest, the plastic ones aren’t a problem for me… for the first time I’ve run into problems with my inides using Fruils. having to remove the flash to hollow out the guide teeth, and take off the excess mold on alot of them isn’t very encouraging! so don’t worry, it’s just the grousers that are the problem…!
