Duke the main guns of the Udaloy Mk2 are 4 130mm/70 AK130 in 2 twin mounts.
Surface to Surface Missiles are the SS-N-22 Sunburn in 2 Quad mountings.
ASW is 2x RPK-2 Viyoga/SS-N-15 Starfish launchers.
CIWS is 2x CADS-N-1(Kashtan) Each with twin 30mm gatling typeguns and SA-N-11 missiles.
Sweet! Thanks Mikey, this info is helpful. Do ytou have a link to that site that shows the Udaloy II? I’d love to try and kitbash one to add to my Russian Navy.
Thank you Model Maniac, I’m glad you like my fleet. I’ll trry to get more pics of some of my other ships a little later.
does Skywave still carry the Soviet Navy weapon set? if they do you can get that and another Udaloy shouldn’t be too hard to update it.
I believe they do, and I believe I have it as well. I was thinking the same thing about getting one and updating it with the weapon set. Now to get another Udaloy so I can get started.
Great minds think alike! [8D]
I have another Udaloy but i think its 1/600 scale but its from some chinese company that I can’t think of but it has extra parts probably for a Sovremenny you know like the twin barrel AK 130’s and the other weapons I meantioned. I was planning on doing a Udaloy II anyways. But I also have a 1/350 scale Sovremenny from Mars. But I also plan on doing my Kiev Aircraft carrier and will have some Yak-36’s and KA-27’s left over from a seperate aircraft set if you want them.
Thanks Mikey, I would love them! That would be awesomoe. E-mail me and we’ll work out the details.
I’ll let you know. But first I’ll have to see how many of the YAK’s i’ll need for the Minsk first probably it will be 6 or 8 and then 2 of the KA-25 Helix’s (I was wrong they weren’t KA-27 Hormone’s) so that will probably leave 16 Yak-36’s and 6 Ka-25’s out of 24 Yaks and 8 KA-25’s. So will you try to add some more airframes to the Kuznetzov and the Varyag. And when I’m done with the Minsk i’ll definitely try to build the Kursk. BTW have you tried to tackle the 1/200 scale Sovremenny yet because I have one and the KA-27 Hormone that they include in the kit is a real treat consisting of over 8 clear parts and I have my KA-27 done and it looks reasonable. Now only if I can do that good with the 1/350 scale SH-3’s that came with the Nimitz kit I got last year.
No problem mikey, I can wait. Yeah, I was thinking of using the extras to add to Kuznetsov and Varyag. What I’d really love to do is get a model of the Kiev class (Mod) and add that to my collection. I saw a Trumpeter(?) kit that claimed to have decals for three ships of the Kiev class, I wonder if there are extra parts to let you build a Modified Kiev…
Is the Kursk you’re going to build the Submarine? I have an Oscar class sub called the Kursk that I have yet to build. It’s a waterline kit so there’s not much to it.
As for the 1/200 scale Sovremennyy, I haven’t tried that one. I doubt I will either since I’m very hard pressed for space. The helo on that bad boy does sound like fun though!
the Kursk I have is the Tamiya 1/700 scale Oscar Class but of course I would love to get my hands on the 1/350 scale Kursk from Zveda. I heard the aircraft for that Kiev are molded in clear plastic ( same as Tamiya when it introduced the retooled Shinano) and it has a full hull and waterline version I would love to get my hands on it then I can have a Kiev to match my Minsk since they are both the same class. (interesting the russian navy named their carriers after war hero’s like we do but also name them after cities like we do with LA class Attack subs.) I forget did Trumpeter make a 1/350 scale Kiev?
All Soviets carriers started out being after cities, but as the USSR disintegrated the non-russian names got discarded; Baku became the Admiral Gorshkov and Tblisi became Admiral Kuznetsov.
Unfortunately, there’s no Kiev available in 1/350 to the best of my knowledge. It would make a great subject, however.
I was searching for the Kiev model but they only sell it build it was 100 euros :S
where did u guys bought the kit??
