Two things happen to me today. 1, I bought a hasie F-14 kit, 2. there is photo etched cockpit parts with it. I said that I wouldn’t buy eather again. Even though I am mad at the hassie, you cant beat them.
Ok the question, How do I use the photo etch parts? Are they glued on? And are the painted, or since they inclueded decals too, do you use them on the parts?

Yes you use glue, but not glue for plastic, use only Tenax or CA(crazy glue) and if their not painted already, yes you paint them the appropriate color’s. But be careful as PE part’s can be quite a pain in the arse sometimes.
Yes CA glue is how you attach PE parts Do not use tenax 7r on PE parts it wont work tenax melts styrene not metal.
I have used Testors clear coat without any problems. Brush it where you want it and put the PE in place. I’ve heard people also use Future in the same manor. Hope this helps.
Clear coats/Future give a pretty fragile bond IMHO. CA or epoxy works best.

DOH!, what was i thinking.
That brings up a question. I’d heard that one should heat photo etched parts to make them more pliable before super gluing them in place. Is that correct?
