Photo-etch corrosion

Modelers, I have a Verlinden set with brass PE parts. These parts seem to be exhibiting a bit of surface corrosion. Should I lightly sand this off before glueing and/or painting them? Is there any other reason I should be concerned?

That’s tarnish. It should come off with a light sanding - and yes, you DO want to take it off. You may also get it to come off by soaking it in white vinegar.
