Hey guys,
I know there are many Phantom experts in here and I hope you can help with this simple question. I am deep into a Hasegawa F-4G. There are lumps over the main gear on top of the wings. I believe I need to remove these for this version but I am not entirely sure. I thought these were a navy thing to strengthen the undercarriage or something like that. Any input is appreciated.

if you mean a long bulge over the top of the wing from front to back, that sort of matches the shape of the main gear doors and the underwing spoiler,those are supposed to be on everything except the F-4A, B, N, and most of the RF-4B aircraft
that is what we mean by the “thick wing” Phantoms, they have a fatter tire and wheel, this includes the F-4C, D, E, J, K, RF-4C and all the directives of those versions
if you mean a little bump right over the main gear strut top, but, with a mostly flat wing,those little covers are only on “thin wing” Phantoms that have received the upgraded landing gear strut and trunnion
I’m referring to the little bump. I have seen reference photos with and without said bump. Just not sure if which is appropriate for an F-4G.
the little bump is not on F-4G (USAF or USN versions of the G)
