Phantom help...

This may not be the correct forum to post this in, but here goes anyway: I have the same kit, I think, that Reload posted about, a large scale vintage Revell F4. I’ve had this thing since it came out, back in the early seventies. Over the years, it has fallen in to disrepair, and a few parts are missing, such as the starboard engine and wing tip. I want to rebuild it, and change the color scheme from white to something else. Does anyone here have any parts for this plane? I can swap some machined parts or some cash for the missing pieces. I’m sure other parts are missing as well, I just haven’t noticed it yet.

What about aftermarket decals? Who is a good supplier of those?

Thanx,

Camo

Im not sure about the parts…but for decals you can search google for “model decals” and there is a plethora of aftermarket sites offering varying levels of quality and cost.

Or, if you’re handy with photoshop, you can make your own Decals. Any hobby store worth thier salt should carry blank decal paper. This can be printed on with a color laser printer. …of you dont have one, skip buying the blank paper and head to Kinko’s. They can print decals for you at a nominal fee, but they wont use anything but thier own decal paper. They’re very picky like that.

Good luck!

The only way you are going to find parts for this old kit is to buy a second one. No AM parts will work on this kit so you will have to scratchbuild or find another kit. Sorry for the bad news.[:(]

Ratz, that’s what I was afraid of Berny. No AM decals either huh?

You repaired Phantoms in the Corps? My brother did, in the early sixties.

You can get AM decals, but that is about all you can get for this old kit.

I worked Phantoms in the USAF. I spent over 20 years on them, out of 26 in the USAF.

Joe, Berny is correct and if I’m not mistaken you have the older 1/32 scale Revell F-4. What I would do is start hitting Ebay and look for the same kit you have and buy it. Scratch building some parts are not as difficult as you think.
