Can someone tell me what are the differences externaly between the E and the F Phantom I have several German F’s and I’m not to good at matching the colors so I was thinks if it is not to much trouble just decaling and painting them of E modles. Thanks in adavance J
The -F was the same as the -E, its systems were a bit simplified for export to Germany. Externally, probably about the only difference might be the location/shape/size of any antennas. Unless you are a real detail hound, your -Fs should be fine for modeling an -E
I builded some years ago an F version using an italeri E, don’t remind great changes, i just usd a/m decals
Actually i have in stash the F version from revell, will be in gray colors. Actually not diggin on the web for perfect colors but from pictures seen till now seems normal fs not specify for german air force.
The F models did not have the slotted stab that is found on all E models. The cockpits were slightly different but I have yet to see a F model kit with the correct cockpit, all have the E cockpits.
Thanks guys for the help if this is all the things stab, ant I think I can give it a fly then let the nit pickers Pick, My Airforce, My Aircraft
99.9% of the people looking at it wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. How did you weather the storm Friday? It got pretty bad here in Panama City and when I went to pick up my wife at the airport it was really bad. I was driving through six to ten inches of water on the airport road.
IIRC, the F-4F also deleted the IFR capability. Does this mean that the outline of the IFR receptacle (if included on a kit) should be filled/removed?
i was thinking exactly the same thing tother day i just couldnt be bothered to start a thread lol
Saw the title, “Phantom F4F”, and thought Revell had released a clear-parts Wildcat to go along with the “Phantom Mustang”… Didn’t know you meant an F-4F Phantom II, lol…
some good reference about F version cockpit? i see lots of external pictures but none of the cockpit
