Hello all,
I just picked up Zlinek’s 1/72 Petlyakov Pe-3 kit, definitely has potential to be a beauty with some work.
Anyway, the instructions are a bit convoluted, especially the decal guide. There’s about 6 aircraft represented on the decal sheet, but according to the decal placement guide, most of those options are for that company’s previous 1/72 Pe-2 kit which has, as I gather, a fair bit of mold comonality with this kit.
I’ve been scrubbing the web looking for references on the Pe-3, particularly post war service, and have been coming up with nothing. Does anyone know of some good sites for researching this beast.
One of the aircraft I’d like to model in this kit is clearly a Pe-2, but it will take more work to make this kit a Pe-2 than I’d like to put in right now.
I know Italeri has a 1/72 Pe-2 out there right now, but I know nothing about it. Does it come with a glass nose, solid nose or both options? I’d need a solid nose for the aircraft I want to model.
I thought I’d save the Zlinek decals for the Italeri kit to make a post war Pe-2 and save the Zlinek kit for a hypothetical project I have in mind.
Thanks in advance
