Hello Everyone!

I was able to make it to the Pearson Joy of Modeling Show at Vancouver Washington on Saturday this weekend.

I was able to see Rick Lawler’s and M1 Carbines work in person and it was a treat. Rick’s Resicast Rolls Royce and hsi Matilida has to be seen in person to really get the the full effect. They are beautiful Rick!

Here is a couple candid shots of them and his Churchill which is also fantastic!

Also look at Bob’s line of Doom! Very cool vehciles and Bob’s Stug was a hit with the Judges and recieved quite a lot of nice comments from the civilians

Those are very nice models that Rick Lawler brought…I didn’t see any pictures of what YOU brought, Edmund.

Come now, I know you are modest, but I reported my results so far, of course, I couldn’t be accused of bragging, two shows, no glory.

My spies tell me that you scored a personal best SECOND PLACE!!!

Congratulations, Edmund. I cannot compare it to the other work on the tables, because I wasn’t there, but I do know how hard you work on all aspects of your work.

Here is what I took to the show.

Yes you heard correctly I received a second place for the Chevy LRDG which was quite a shock to me based on the quality of the models on the table. It was a small show and they combined Axix and alies and armor and softskins all in one category I know it was very difficult to judge.

I will be taking it to a more traditional IPMS Show in April so I am curiuos how it will do with the more traditional categories in a larger show.

Yes Bob does look happy. Sorry I couldn’t join the party, but I was getting sunburned in the Caribbean. LOL

Nice builds. Like that Matilda. Congrats on the 2nd place. That must have been a pretty good piece to beat yours out.

You might be just as surprised at the ipms events. They’ll usually draft or take ANYONE who will volunteer as a judge; whether they know anything or not.

Here’s an interesting question I’ve heard from a judge.

Hmm"Hey, does the driver sit in that round thing on the top?" (turret)

Oh, and that door on top is a hatch.

That guy is fully qualified to judge your hard work.

Go figure…

You could place Best of Armor at one show …then not place AT ALL the next time.

Depends on who’s who.

As far as I’m concerned, this forum is the “last word”.

Hi guys…Ed and Bob thanks for posting.

The little Jungle dio was done by my buddy Jon Lange - it took 3rd in dio’s. Jon’s Sdkfz 7 Flak set in Stalingrad won the category.

Thank you everyone that posted and for the well wishes. I am sorry I got very busy with the family repsonsibiiities and didn;t have have time to get back here.

Mark Ford won the 1\35th category, People’s Choice and Best of show with his Brumbar. I do not have any pictures of it becase I took so many at the Evergreen Aviation Show in September. I will see if I can find them. His work is quite good and he is a nice guy on top of that!
