as i stated i dont really have a great deal of references compared with say blackwolf but i do have quite a bit on pearl harbor and the attack. some of these have been shown to me by members of this forum others i found while browsing the net. well here goes.
ok i couldnt wait, i have to share some more. i am going to deviate just a little. one of the main a/c involved in the attack was the p-40. two varients were stationed at the fields throughout the islands on dec 7 1941, the b and the c. natural progression takes me to the links for the p-40. so here goes.
first thing to do is to give a link to a research site. this link has been given in the a/c forum and is a good one.
Joe, I, like you, am absolutely fascinated by the attack on Pearl Harbor. I have been collecting everybook and picture of the attack that I could find. Thanks for the links as this is making my job a lot easier. I have been making a master list of everything involved with the attack, every ship, every plane and every person. Unfortunately most of my work was wiped out in an accident a few years ago (hot water heater exploded in the room next to the one it was stored in, didn’t notice the flooding until it was already to late) But armed with the sites you listed I may try to make another attempt. BTW, I was at Pearl Harbor in 1977. This is one of those places where you can actually feel the history of the place.
ive got a file cabinet full of files. books. magazines. pictures. letters. and now i add to that about two hundred links to sites that deal with pearl harbor. there are thousands of sites that deal with the attack. i havent even scratched the surface of whats out there.
ok ready for the next session. todays subject: the b-18. now i searched for about a month for good sites on the b-18 but was unsuccessful for the most part. saying that i will share the ones i have found.
http://www.airpirates.com/Hawaii_Pg_2.htm this is a wrecked b-18. the plane is heavily damaged and the pics show that fact, but it also gives a great view of the interior of the plane.
now these are not much for interior shots but they give a good overall view of the exterior. i am afraid there is not much out there, at least that i could find.
i have found many interesting sites and many sites that have great photos. these are the sites that were found in the last six months. i have a number, a rather large number, of favorites saved on another cd.
so the next session. i know lets go to the imperial japanese navy. recently i purchased a kate and wanted to search out some good photo sites. however here are the ones i have found.
ok it has been a few days. i however have another installment. this one was a recent research project.
the os2u the kingfisher. recently lobbie and i have had some discussions of different a/c and this one looked good. i plan to do a series of builds on the navy a/c that are not as much in the forefront of the attack. this one will be represented proudly i hope.
