PE parts: Help !

Hi guys,

As my previous topic didn’t get much responce and someone psoted a reply saying he didn’t understand my question very clearly, I’ll post a new topic with my questions explained better:

I just got my very first Aftermarket PE set from Eduard.

Set 48171 for 1/48 Academy Su-27 UB. But that doesn’t matters, but I will use examples for this set.

How to paint? I knew there is an article on ARC about painting PE parts, but I would like some of your advice…

For example, this panel will have to be painted in a light grey-blue color. So the lower surface of the upside of the PE part ( Oh God, what a sentence… ), will be in that color, bu the instruments will be in black, silve, yellow, red… How to do?

Do PE parts respond well to acryllics and enamels?

Do I have to clean the parts with soimething to remove all the grease ( from production and fingerprints? ). With what?

What do you use to bent the parts?

When some of the parts are bend in a way you don’t want it to be, what to do ?

How to attach a clear film with printed instruments on the PE parts ?

Ans I can use all general info about working with PE parts…

Cheers and thanks !

Jürgen
