I’ve got the R/M 1:48 P-38J and was looking for PE for it, but all I found was for the Hasegawa P-38. Would I be able to make it work on my kit, or are the two kits just too dis-similar?[%-)]
No thoughts? Anyone? Anyone? Beuller? Beuller?[#dots]
If it’s the newer release from Revell/Monogram, it is the Hasegawa kit reboxed. If it’s the old Monogram release ( Raised Panel Lines ), it would still be useable, but with a lot more effort.

Well, it’s the R/M kit with the three different versions of “J” model, but it looks like it has the raised panel lines. So, I’m not sure if it’s the NEW or the OLD?
The Monogram P-38J is an old mold. The ProModeler P-38 is a Hasegawa reissue. True Details used to make a photo etch set for the old mold but I beleive it is OOP but can be found at swap meets, ebay, etc. Although I’ve built that kit many times as a youngster and have fond memories of the open gun bay and all, I have to admit the Academy asnd Hasegawa series are soooo much better all around.
