I like flat and weathered!

Semi Gloss Black, to sart with then weather it.

Rob.

it just came from the factory

I don’t know how Navy nightime black schemes came from the depot, but they certainly turned flat fast if that’s not the original spec of the paint. Don’t think I’ve ever seen a photo of a glossy one in a combat zone. Not in WW II, nor in color photos from Korea. I just dragged out an old copy of Airpower with a color photo-article on a Marine nightfighter squadron in Korea, and the F4U’s and F7F’s were quite flat. But then, the Black Cat Catalinas in WW II played by their own rules, and that may have extended to the paint they used. So you probably couldn’t be proven wrong no matter how you went at it.

…and well used…

Paint it silver… with a few spots of flat black here and there. [:D] Weather it, digger!

Gotta be flat black, and well weathered!!

[#ditto]Gotta be weathered
