I was just surfing around (at work, hehe [:)] ), and came accross this:
Does anyone have any idea of kits produced, or plans, or good references. The thing looks so damn cool, I’d even scratchbuild if I could get some headway.
Any help is appreciated.
Heller had one out in 1/48th scale
“arii” sold teh whole patriot missle system in 1/48. you could get the patiot missle launcher, the antenna, the command center and radar
i cant find any pictures of the missle launcher though.
Thanks guys. I think I can probably get enough references on the M983 tractor to convert the Italeri kit, and if I get the Heller launch vehicle, I can use the kit parts as a template to scratch 1/35 items.
Zokissima,
Dave “Animal” Willet (over at Armorama) has already built the tractor and took lots of in-progress pics and referance pics. Here is his photo gallery:

And his completed model:
Animal is the king of trucks, take a look at some of the other build he has in his gallery there. They are pretty awesome.
There is also a small Desert Storm commemerative kit that includes a Scud and Patriot in flight (1/72 scale). The base is a diecast metal map of Iraq/Kuwait.
I’ve got the four kit set by Arii and the prime movers more closely resemble something from a Godzilla movie than actual HEMTT-based trucks. The kit numbers are A681-2000 (Missile Launcher); A682-2000 (Radar); A683-2000 (Controller); A684-2000 (Antenna). Arii also sold the systems without the prime movers, I don’t have those kit numbers off hand.
Nimix, a Spanish company, also makes a Patriot system with a launcher, radar, command trailer and a M-983 prime mover. I think Mission Models carrys them in the US.

Gee thats a sexy looking rig!!! That may sound wierd, but then again I’m like that. [:P]
Major Rob, you get transfered?
Yes, I work at Ft. Knox’s G3 shop (Directorate of Plans and Training Management). If there’s something going on at the Armor Center we’re the ones planning it.
I was thinking about getting this kit and now I will it looks awsome and pretty heftty kit and a master peice to look at.
Yeah, it definitely is a very purposeful looking beast.
