Pass he airbrush question

Not sure I I can be helped but I have an older paasche vl airbrush the trigger wax stuck and I got it to push own for air the problem is it also sprays paint so I have no control over paint. Any ideas?

Have you tried taking it apart for a very thorough cleaning? The VL is about as straightforward as it gets…after eveything is super clean, look for worn or broken parts; broken trigger, broken tension spring, etc.

If you need parts they’re available. I get mine from Chicago Airbrush. I’ve had my VL for decades, and have replaced plenty of parts over time - can’t seem to wear it out.

I’ve taken it apart a couple of times

Inside the air valve is a little o ring style seal, it’s probably shot causing the plunger to stick. Beyond that it’s a full cleaning. You can lube those trigger parts with a little glycerin.

If you need a new air valve the whole assembly is undrr $8 at Midwest Airbrush Supply.

I’ve got a VL, too, yes, it’s a straighforward tool, well-designed and pretty rugged, too. I buy parts directly from Paasche:

I think I will give up on this airbrush, every time I connect it to test it’s something else either leaking or just not working right. Thanks all for the help

Ya, and then what ?

Well, if you want to throw it away… I’d be glad to have it!

Have a nice day

I suspect he’s going to buy a new airbrush.

That potential exists of course.

I have 5 VL’s, love them.

I have found Coast Airbrush in LA to be a real good source of info and parts. They also do a great repair at a reasonable price. They respond quickly and the answers are always good.

I guess as posted by others, tear it down and clean. I use bristle style pipe cleaners, q-tips and good old lacquer thinner. I also put a drop of airbrush oil on the needle and the fittings.

Good Luck
