I don’t know about you , But my parts box is overflowing with stuff I’ve put in there and what I’ve picked up at Flea markets as glue bombs . Now the question . What do I do with this stuff ?
I have four carrier hulls (1/350 ) and other asssorted vessels . I do know that one ( a Old Regular Wheelhouse SchnellBoot ) is going to be a yacht conversion . I may do the RAG boat as I once did another years ago ( A Newfoundland Mailboat with sliding door and windows and rotating searchlight and radar ).
I was thinking about creating a liner or two with the carriers . I do know that one is going to be a " Supertanker ". What do you do with your parts box , bin or drawer full of stuff ? T.B. P.S. Thing is what do you like ? and can you do it with what you have ?
The guys in the club take turns going through the boxes. Every once in a while when they do that, some stuff disappears and new stuff appears. They’ve turned them into group parts boxes. The only problem with that is the person that has the boxes has to find a place to store them until the next guy comes looking.
I don’t get use from it…once in a great while, I’ll find some greeble or do-hickey that’ll work for something. With the kits I build, these days…everything is pretty well covered, so there really isn’t much need to go through the spares box.
Yep, what he said. Usually when i do find use for somthing its a what if build or because i have lost a part. But, i am loath to throw them out. You know when that happens, i’ll need somthing soon after.
I took mine to the local cub scout pack when they were building their pinewood derby cars. One car this year featured the torpedo from the old Monogram TBF Avenger, two bombs from the Monogram P-38, a pilot from the old Revell 1/32 F4U Corsair and a canopy from a SR-71! It’s been a great source for some imagin-eering and a stroll down memory lane when they asked what the parts came from!
