"Partial" seam filling

The fuselage of my Trumpeter F-105 is in two sections (not “Parts”, but sections); the front 3/4 and another section that is about 1/4 at the rear. There is a seam where I joined the two sections, and while filling the seam itself is not a big issue, the joint is on a panel line that I want to leave. It would look OK if it weren’t so much deeper than the molded panel lines.

My question is, what is the best way to fill that seam and leave the panel line? I can fill it with gap-filling CA but that would make it virtually impossible to rescribe the panel line. I haven’t tried scribing into Squadron putty, but I suspect that it would just chip and make a mess. Thick paint, maybe?

I’m sure some of you guys who are much more experienced than I am have done this and I’d appreciate some guidance.

You’re right, you can’t scribe Squadron putty. You can scribe CA, but it takes a lot of very light passes and a lot of patience.

Thanks, Rick, I appreciate the input. I suspected that was the case with Squadron and patience is far from being anywhere in my name so I’ll see if I can come up with something else. It isn’t “Bad” right now, the fit is good, it’s just too deep. I think I might be able to put some thick paint in and take away some of the depth and it will be OK.
