Hello Everyone:
What exactly are paper models? Are they those Guillow’s kits with balsa structures, or are they strictly paper. Some of them look interesting from their box art at websited like LighthouseModelArt.com, but I’ve never seen one in person, and can’t tell whether or not all parts are paper.
Thanks for the info.
Mark
The Guillow’s kits are usually refered to as “stick and tissue”. I believe the Paper planes are just that. All paper.
Here’s one source:

Click on some of the airplane links, like jets, or bombers (check out the B-17).
The site has a lot of stuff just for little kids, but a lot of their stuff also looks quite good considering it’s paper. You can download and print the kits, too. Most downloads will cost you, but look close and you’ll find a few free ones.
I was looking around on that site just now, and found that you have to go back to the home page and click a link from there, otherwise you’ll get a 404 error.

Paper planes are usually printed on fairly stiff poster type card board in color. I have a few that I have’nt built as yet. They make a nice change when you go somewhere that you can’t take plastic. If they are done right they can look really nice. Sometimes they look just like they plastic kit when they finished properly.
I ran across some of these at a model show in Dallas. They have everything from planes to tanks to buildings. If you need a change of pace their fun, and if you take your time they look pertty cool.
Thanks, guys! Looks like they might be a good source for plans, too, to be used for a scratch-building project of mine.
Take care,
Mark
If you want to get some (a lot) of free paper models to try it out, than you should visit http://www.3dpapermodel.com.tw/
You’ll find lots of stuff there, for free and just about every subject you can imagine, some stuff is crap, but some ( like the Star Wars models) are really great.
