I have an early model panther and wanted to build it as an old warhorse. After reading panzer aces I , II, and Tigers in the mud, I realized that if a tank had been in service very long it was going to be damaged, and may have been knocked out more than once. I have read where the tank was hit, penatrated, crewmen injuried/killed,tank partially burned, recovered and returned to service shortly.
I 'm looking for photos and refrences of repaired panthers. Any information would be very helpful. How did they repair shot holes? Did they just do spot repaints, leave as is or compleatly repaint? Were turrets swaps common? Would they swap a G panther turret onto a A panther hull? Questions I have, answers and opinions I need. I am one who tries to be very accurate. Thanks for any and all help!!!
You bring up alot of good questions. I’m not sure in all the stuff I’ve read since becoming a ‘dark-sider’, in the past 1-1/2 years, if I’ve come across what you bring up. Although I would not be surprised that ‘recycling’ tanks was done.

the only pic i could find is this:

i have heard of some stuff the germans use to spread over the dents on tigers and king tigers to patch the marks, i think it was grey, and they didn’t paint it i think, although camo was applied on the field, so it might be painted.
Thanks, there is not much information that I have been able to find.
