Panzer IV Ausf. H 1/35 done ...

Hey Folks,
Another creation from my really slow production line.
Was kinna cought up with mountains of work, but was able to steal time here and there to finally get this thing done.

Nothing special of this time, not even a chain, just OOB kit from Tamiya. They are just nice and right to be OOB. The exhaust part was done by using Instant Rust.
Mud was done using gipsum and then painted using oil paint. Firstly I tried mixing the gipsum with acrylic paint but the color and gipsum wont blend at all no matter how much color I pour in into the mix.

Comments and critiques are welcome.

Ben

Very nice,I really like your weathering and mud.A great build all round[:)]

The only thing I saw is in the 3rd pic behind the drive sprocket, seems to be shiny clean plastic???.

Really well done Ben. It doesn’t matter how fast you crank them out as long as the quality is there.

Great job! Very well done. Just the right amount of weathering and mud.

Nice job, Ben! It looks very effective! How long has it taken you to finish this one?!

Very Cool, that mud is surely convincing. I would take a look at the inside of the sprocket hub and add some goo in there too! Great job buddy…

regards,

Steve

Sometimes the OOB approach is the best way to get the most fun out of a project! My only suggestion would be to give the turret motor exhaust (the square/boxy looking part to the left of the main exhaust/muffler) the same treatment as the regular one.

hey ben[:D]-- nice job on this build man–the mud and the degree of weathering all blend very nicely and convincingly-- i also like the camo job-- well blended into the weathering[tup][tup][8D]-- sorry to be ignorant, but what is instant rust?-- nice build man!!-- treadwell

Nice job. I think the camo really turned out great.

Beautiful job!! The mud and weathering really set it off.

Ron.

Love it!

Thanks for all the nice words and comments guys [:I]

Yep, kinna missed that spot. Really funny sometimes when you are building something, you thought that you got every corner covered, but once you take pics of it, you can more like one or two things. Nice catch guys ! Will definately fix it. [:P]

Eddie
Dunno, kinna lost track of time with work and this and that, but I figure its about a month.

It is a coating product from Tricoat. Here is the link; http://www.tricoat.com/SF/index.html

Ben

Very nice!!!

Gotta love the IV!!

[V] Herr Carves…

[:O] Auch der lieber!
Vat ist this? [|(]
Wunderbar [#toast]
[:(!] Ver ist die chainen? No chainen? [V] AUCH! [%-)]Chainen kaput?
[:D] Such a combination of art and mechanical ability.
However, [:-,] you do not fool me!
Jah… I know you haf been attending “Mien Herr Biffa’s Armor Academy”
and improving your mastery of [}:)] die “dark side” of modeling.
That is vat you haf been doing! Jah.

[tup] (Actually, you’ve done a very good job. I really like the used look.
Quality, not quantity… but then, I guess that had a lot to do with
the Germans losing.)

Spent some time readin’ some old Sergeant Rock and Easy Company
comic books this week. [:o)] Guess I got a little caught up in the kraut-speak.

I look forward to your next build Ben.

Steve

Very nice. I like the weathered look of it, too. Great job.

Steve,

Herr Biffa’s panzer fabrique uber ales, while …
Herr Ben’s panzer fabrique uber so so…

Thanks for the comment thou.
Now speaking of Easy Company, is this the same Easy Company like in the movie Band of Brothers ?
I just saw that movie yesterday.

Ben

with a paint job like that [bow]

chain, etc… is not needed.

Ben,

You know, for some reason, [%-)] I hadn’t thought of that.
I’m pretty sure it isn’t because the movie doesn’t have a"Sergeant Rock".
This was a comic book series back in the 60’s about the [angel] GI’s versus the [}:)] Nasty Nazi’s in WWII.

There was another WWII comic book series [8)] (in the 60’s) featuring (Nicholas “Nick” Fury) “Sergeant Nick Fury and the Howling Commandos”. (this series kinda got more in the way of science - fiction though)

[:I] Back then, (60’s) comic books were about the closest way for the average kid to get a look at what German equipment looked like.

[:(] Ya makin’ me feel old here.

I used to have 'em all 'til I went over to my Mom’s house one day (years after leaving home) and discovered that she had given both units [BH] a dishonorable discharge.

Also include in the massacre [xx(] were:
Blackhawks
Lash Larue
Superman
Bug’s Bunny
Dick Tracy
Roy Rogers
Playboy… oh yeah, oops, I forgot that one.

Now, back to my tank.

Steve

Great looking IV H Ben!

I like the weathering, very convincing [;)]

Is this the old or the new version by Tamiya?

Jan [:)]

Pretty nice looking build especially for OOB.
