Panzer III

Here is A Tamiya 1/35 Panzer III. Straight from the box with a sludge wash for weathering. The markings are for the sPzAbt 502 1st company Russia Sept. 1942.

The flash made it look glossy. It is not glossy. Still working on getting the weathering down on armour. I have new camera that I am trying to figure out so, the photos are not the best.

I like it.

I really like the camouflage paint scheme.
As for the camera, I never use the flash http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p137/diedye/Humor/smiley_flasher.gif~originalon my
trusty 10 year old digital and my pictures always come out nicely.

Check the site out below to see what I mean.

Looks pretty cool, nice work!

Great, lets see more tanks from you. I like how you got a fine line with your AB for the camo.

Looks like the only parts that register as glossy is where you applied the wash. Notice the helmet and one of the gray packs remain matte.

I like it! I know, pictures are not very easy. I took my latest pics of my panzer IV with my iphone 6 in my paint booth with some white paper under and behind the tank. It helps. Look forward to seeing more of your work. I am learing weathering myself, but I think you did a fine job! Rudy

Very nice MK…I like your paint job, it show’s nice control of your AB. Keep them coming.

Gentlemen, I would like to take credit for being able to paint fine lines with my airbrush. In reality I painted the tank Panzer Olive green first, then I used poster putty rolled in thin strips and layed out the camo pattern. After that I sprayed on Panzer yellow. I peeled off the poster putty and that is how I got the finish. If you keep the airbrush about 6-10 inches away from the model it will give you a soft edge, closer to the model you get a harder edge. Thanks for all the comments.

Really nice. When you give the model a base coat of Dark Yellow, mix it with about 40% White and do a quick, light pass of the lighter color spraying directly from above. It gives a nice sun-bleached look to the finish and really adds some life to the finish. [:D]

Doog, thanks for the information. Right now getting the weathering right is the toughest part of building process. I have a long way to go.

Great camo job. As for photography, the lighting is very important. Try using overhead lighting so you don’t have to use your flash. All in all a very nice tank, but your TC is too far up in that hatch for my taste.

TigerII, I agree but the way the figure is set up that is just about the only way to do it with out surgery on the arms and cutting the legs off. I chose not to do that. This way he is a sitting duck for a Russian sniper.

Thats a nice finish. I do think some good lighting will really help with the photographs.
