Hey mate, really nice builds. Your chipping is great. Any chance of sharing your techniques?

Your KV-1 in German markings is really cool!

One thing, are your Panzer III tracks on the right way?

Nice work cb1000h…[#toast]

Boomer…

They look great. And i am with boomer…How did you do the chipping?

Not only are those fantastic builds, but the photography is top notch as well.

And yes,how did you achieve the chipped look?

I love realistic weathering… Never tried it before myself, but god it’s fascinating to look at.

Are those metal tracks? The bottom photo reveal’s quite heavy sagging.

…howdidyoudothechipping?

Really nice work there. I too like the weathering, though a bit heavy on the chipping IMO. It’s been somwhat argued that crews wouldn’t allow their tanks to fall into such disrepair. I think the Panzer III is sweet, but the chipping would be more reflective of an Afrika Korps vehicle. Of course, these are just my opinions and are not to be taken to seriously as we all weather according to our own tastes and styles.

And yes, are those kit tracks on the Pz III? Great work none-the-less and hope to see more.

sweet, really nice builds. goes to show that a straight OOB build can be very well executed.

Congrats,

Terry.

Very nice work. I really like the German KV-1.

Gorgeous paint work cb1000!

I have been waiting to see one of those German KV’s built up–it’s a cool kit, and they go pretty cheap on ebay! You did a nice job on it for sure!

Hate to break it to you though–your Pz III tracks are indeed on backwards! I hope you can possibly reverse them if they’re not glued fast?

Nice work all around on the finishing though! [:)]

Sweet German KV-1, love the camo. Just wondering what kit it is, Tamiya, Trumpeter, or Dragon?[?]

Trumpeter. They are the only one that makes this version.

The KV-1 was done with rubber cement applied over gray before the top coat and camo
then rubbed off with finger, tooth pick and stiff brush
The Panzer was all hand painted gray on over top coat then washed with very thin rust brown
edges where then penciled

As for the tracks on the KV they are link and lenght presaged the Panzer was done with metal rod run throught the lower hull and holds the track in a sag then painted to blend they a just shy of the end of the track if you look close to the picks you can just make them out being as for the tracks being backwards dk? thought thats what was shown on the box art but oh well what ya gona do???
